Diyar Al Muharraq (DAM)

marine design

The Diyar Marina development is a key contributor to Bahrain’s expanding residential and infrastructure needs. Spanning a 12 square kilometer area, it comprises several islands, internal canals, water features, a marina, and beaches, making it a prime destination for leisure and residential living. Engineers now working with MCC provided the marine, design and supervision services that enabled the successful construction of the Diyar reclamation platform.

The engineers have since been involved with the design of a marina within Diyar that, upon completion, will have the capacity to berth over 250 boats in water and 50-60 vessels on land.
As with the East Sitra Project, John Barnes was the Principal Resident Engineer and oversaw the construction from early stages through to completion, and was later appointed as the Project Director, responsible for the technical and overall aspects of the subsequent technical marine designs for the project. Over the past 13 years Engineers now working with MCC have designed the key parts of the development.

Engineers currently working with MCC have also conducted sand searches to the north of Diyar, seeking additional approvals from relevant government entities to secure sand fill for reclamations across Bahrain.
